Sometimes Vet Visits can be hard for your pet.
If it is for your dog, this is the package for you!
As a Fear Free Certified Professional Trainer, Your Happy Dog Coach is knowledgeable and trained in working with you, your pet, and your Veterinary Clinic/Hospital to help your pet make great associations with being in the environment, experiencing care, and having special procedures done.
Some things that YHDC can help your dog learn to be comfortable with include:
- Getting up on the scale to be weighed
- Being place on the examination table
- The handling of a typical examination
- Vaccine applications
- Application of topical or oral medications
- and more!

Trainers who complete the Fear Free Animal Trainer Certification Program will acquire the skills to manage and handle dogs and cats alongside the veterinary team during veterinary visits and care to ease the pet’s apprehension regarding exams, procedures, and other care. The techniques may also be used in a home setting for carrying out or administering specific veterinarian-prescribed care plans or routine care like grooming. Most important, the Fear Free animal trainer is equipped to prepare pets for what to expect at the veterinary clinic so they have an enjoyable, stress-free experience.
Because this is an extremely personal, customized service, based on each pet’s very specific needs, it is impossible to estimate the number of sessions before your pet is comfortable with the procedure.
This is also something that requires us to listen to the pet and only move forward at their pace.
To reflect this, it is not offered as a package. Instead, the cost will be based on time spent, rounding up to the nearest 15 minutes, using $100 per hour as the baseline; this means that shorter visits will be less ~ I don’t want to charge you for an hour if your pet can only handle 30 minutes, for example. (If this sounds complicated to understand, message me and I’ll try to make it make sense!)

Update: I have been in touch with Clare Animal Hospital Ltd, Evangeline Animal Hospital, and Parade Street Animal Hospital Ltd, to give them the following letter introducing myself and explaining the goals of a Fear Free Certified Professional in the hopes that we can create working relationships so we can help the clients and patients of all local pets. Of course, we will need to coordinate all visits with them beforehand to ensure we can provide the best care and training possible.
